How do I get device to record in steps instead of km?

@Katbyte59 Your Alta HR is always recording your steps as steps. You're seeing a "k" next to your steps because the display orientation is changed so it doesn't show all the steps. For example, instead of showing 1,528 steps, you'll see "1.5k". You can change this from the Fitbit app by tapping on your profile's icon > Alta HR > Clock Display and from there you can switch to Horizontal or Vertical.

It should be automatically recording both steps and distance. Where are you not seeing steps - on device or on phone app?
