I own 2 Altas and both have died

My fist Alta dies for no reason and plenty of battery. Resetting it does nothing. It works after plugging it in again but it is unreliable and not worth the money I spent on it. 
My second Alta was charging and the charger defected, melted and overheated the Alta to the point of its earlier demise.
