Is my Alta charging?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
Hi,

My Alta would vibrate & show a battery icon when I first plug it in to charge. After that the screen would switch "off" & fade to black. Would like to know if my Alta is charging properly when there the screen is "off" during charging because I remember the battery icon would remain on throughout the charging process when I charged it previously.

Same here. Can't believe there's no indication of whether or not it's charging! I had mine plugged into a USB outlet port overnight and it still didn't charge.

There is a small round button on the underside of the USB charger that, when plugged in and connected, resets the Fitbit

tried the reset button, called customer support and then said to hold the reset button down for 8 seconds, three times.  Did that without any luck, back to the store it goes.

I just recently purchased a FitBit Alta.  I am charging it on my Computer.  When I first started to charge it, it showed a battery life icon then faded to black.  How do I know it is charging and what will I see when it is fully charged.  If I tap it twice will it show the battery life icon.

Don't worry when it fades to black, this is totes norm. Wait an hour or so for the fitbit to charge. After the hour, double tap, and it SHOULD come up with a full battery!

Lemme know how it works out!

It's on the cable.. charging cable..

It's on the part of the cord where you plug it into the USB port.

Should I see something on my iPhone app when fitbit is charging?

When you go into fitbit app on line that shows you steps and sleep.  If you look at the very top right hand corner you will see a tiny yellow battery which shows battery life.  I don't know if it is in real time however.  Hope this helps.

@wwc728 @sparkles4 As a matter of fact, the Fitbit app doesn't show the battery icon as it's charging in real time. You can only check the battery icon as it's charging in the Fitbit itself.

I have followed all directions and it’s still not charging. This is my 3rd Fitbit. They usually only last me a year. What’s up with this? I’m not happy.
