Did you mean:

It appears I am exercising in my sleep.

I have had my Alta for less than a month.

3 times now, it has logged me being on the elliptical when I am not on the elliptical.  I have used it while I actually was and it tracked accordingly, but several times I wake up and lo and behold I was using the elliptical (last night for example) for 1 hour and 38 minutes.

At 4 am.

Unless I drove to the gym and did all of this in my sleep, this did not occur.  (this did not occur)

Also only once has it tracked the "correct" calorie burn while running/working out. 4 miles and I burned 117 calories?  I don't think so.

Anyone have same issues?  Loved my flex, so far not impressed with this one.

@EmilyH, wow, that's quite strange.  As a first troubleshooting step I would suggest giving your Alta a restart .  That can sort out many issues.  Also I would check to make sure your sleep sensitivty is set to "normal".

After the restart and setting your sleep sensitivity, if it continues to track elliptical exercises while you sleep, please get in touch with Customer Support: contact.Fitbit.com .

H, I am xperiencng the same problem. Last night it logged 4 Eliptical workouts. I just wonder if you got it sorted out?

I am not impressed with Alta compared to the Flex, which I thought was more accurate and did not have so many issues with tracking esp. on Android .

@Eligosol Thanks for joining us and welcome to our Community! It's weird that your Alta logged elliptical activities when you were asleep. As my friend @Julia_G mentioned, try restarting your tracker as she advises above and the rest of the workarounds. If this doesn't help, my best advice is to contact our Customer Support team so they can investigate further and get this issue sorted out.

Keep @Julia_G and me posted on the outcome my friend! Smiley Happy

I'm glad I wasn't the only one.  I ended up calling fitbit and they determined it was a faulty tracker.  They sent me a new one, and that was about 2 weeks or so ago.  So far so good ...

I’ve had my Fitbit 3 years now and I have this problem a lot. I wish I reported it early on and had it replaced!
