Losing charge and switching off

My Fitbit Alta has literally overnight stopped holding its charge and switching off. I fully charged it and over night it went off then once connected to charger in the morning it said it was 80%. By the night time it was flat. I don’t understand how this could happen so quickly as it has always held its charge well and it has always been looked after. 

Ive tried all the techniques stated and tried several times to reboot but nothing is working. Please advise

This is my second Alta and this has happened to both. Is it a built in obsolescence?
