Manually entered activities not counting towards weekly activity

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

New user here. When I enter my HIIT workouts manually into my exercise log, the weekly tile does not reflect the workout. My goal is set for activity (10 min or more) and I've entered 30 minutes of "sports" three times on three different dates and has not come up on the tile. Any ideas?

A new Fitbit is on its way to me as this one quit sensing heart rate, which is why I'm entering manually.

Thank you!

Hi there @Granthammom, welcome to the Community Forums and sorry for the delayed response.

I'd like to let you know that manually entered activity doesn't count towards the daily totals but you can do this to be able to keep track of your activity. The only data that will count towards your totals is the information recorded from our tracker directly.

Hopefully your new tracker will work as it should and you shouldn't have these problems.

Let me know if you need more help with this.

Why did you change this as it used to recognized. There are times where we may be charging it yet running around and want to acknowledge the activity. If this isn’t changed back I WILL look to an alternative. Bad enough you’re now part of the insecure Google network. VERY UNHAPPY!

@CraigY As long as I have had a Fitbit (must be 3 years now I think), manually added activity has not counted towards challenges. Yes annoying, but I think the intent is so that no one can cheat, so that seems a pretty good reason to me!

@CraigY  I have been with fitbit since 2009 and this was never allowed. So nothing has changed

I have had a Fitbit Charges for Several years and can tell you the capability existed until recently because I used. Don’t know what Fitbit you had but it was available with Charge models.

The capability existed until about 2 weeks ago, at least for my fitbit. I do a lot of swimming and do not wear my fitbit, and I used to be able to record my swim time and have it count. Then it just stopped, time to find a new device.

The Challenges isn't the issue, it is the counting toward daily and weekly activity. Manual data used to count and then it just stopped.
