This morning I synced my Alta after waking up to check my sleep cycle for the evening. Took it off when I was getting ready and as I was putting it back on before going to work, I noticed that it was blinking in a strange way. I had charged it to full battery 2 days ago, so it had plenty of battery power. I've never seen it flicker like this. It looked that it was resetting over and over again. I've seen that display screen only when I had to reset it once in the past because it wasn't syncing my steps correctly but that was months ago. I thought maybe I needed to try to charge it again, so it plugged it in with the adapter and it blinked that the battery was dead, which was so strange and the green lights were no longer blinking. I tried to connect it via USB to my laptop and do the reset to see if that would help and nothing. It will not turn on at all at this point. Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do since a reset won't work and it won't charge.

Omg! Well I honestly thought I was the only one perhaps facing such, so ventured here to find some answers & the first thing I saw (your post) which comforted me to a point... The same exact thing happened, to mine this morning as well... The constant blinking, not connecting to my mobile, not taking charge nor was it blinking (Alta Hr)

That sounds sad for both your devices. @DSimplicity if you havent yet tried restarting it multiple times, then try that. Restart your tracker
I will flag this thread for a moderators attention.

I tried restarting it when it was blinking through the steps, active minutes etc & it was no good at that moment. However, my Alta Hr is up & running as though nothing happened... (slightly puzzled).
I just left off my hand after the episode of dying earlier & after work I checked it & it’s functioning quite normal thus far...

Glad yours seemed to resolve the issue on its own. Not the same story unfortunately for me, I wish. I missed not using it for 2 days now. This is my 2nd Alta in less than 2 years, love the fit of the device but not thrilled they don't seem to last long at all. We will see how this goes.

It's still not resolved. Heard from customer service today, but unfortunately it was just yet the same list of suggestion of what to do. Frustrating because I made it clear that the device won't even turn on or hold a charge at all...no matter what. We will see if this can be resolved and settled sooner rather than later.
Well...I don't accept this as a resolution I'd like to suggest hand. Forgot customer service did respond with an offer for me to receive 25% off of my next device. To me, this is not acceptable and again frustrating because the 1st Alta Hr I bought didn't last the year within warranty. Forgot replaced it with a "new" device they claimed, but that didn't even last a year, only 9 months. There is no way I'm going to continue to buy a device then if the company who makes it won't even cover the basics of their warranty. Bottom line is their devices aren't expected then to last the year even of the warranty. Going over to Garman and asking friends about other devices they have. I'd like to hear about the life and warranty of those devices now that there are numerous on the market. All the best to all of you that have experienced the same with your device dying for no reason.
My apologies that autocorrect changed some words in my message which makes it tricky to read. Hopefully you can figure out the gist of what I was saying.

Hi Andrea
I've just had this same problem this afternoon. I noticed some of the pixels going over the last week and then this afternoon my Alta HR started flashing through all the different displays and wouldn't stop. I tried resetting it a few times but had to go out. When I looked at it again a couple of hours later, the display was dead, but the green lights on the back are constantly on. I've now tried rebooting it again but nothing is happening. I've had it for about 15 months and love it, but I am really sad that it has now stopped working. Please help!

Hi,
I see you helped the others, I wonder if you can help me. For several weeks now my Fitbit Alta HR has simply died at random times and without warning. Once re-started, the battery is at an adequate level, so this really is a mystery to me. Can you help ?
