My Alta is registering too many steps

I put my Alta on this morning and it says I have walked 29000 steps already

Is there  a way to restart my Alta Please?

To reset, Plug it into the charger, press and hold the small circular button til it buzzes. Not sure if it will delete steps for today but it resets the device, which is probably what you need if it's counting steps that aren't happening
