My Alta turns itself off.

My Alta turns itself off and won’t turn back on till placed on charger. I just took it off charge this morning and it has a medium battery life any suggestions? It was working fine till the beginning of April and now it keeps turning off. i am not sure if the update has anything to do with this? it is very frustrating.

Fitbit just offered me a 35% discount because I'm a week out of my warranty.  I don't think I want another all to HR because they don't work very long, I would like to try another brand but I would also like to stay in my Fitbit challenges with my friends.  I may try a waterproof version, not sure at this point.

This is happening to me too. I noticed the watch hasn't been syncing properly. Turning off and on Wi-Fi and Bluetooth usually fixes it.
I started restarting the device every time I charge it, just in case.
A couple days ago it just straight up turned off, I thought it fully died. Fully charged it but it still wasn't syncing so I unpaired and paired it back on (that was a hassle).

So far, so good. Until this morning. It recorded 6h of sleep, I dozed off again and when I woke up, the device had turned itself off (I charged it yesterday). Put it on charge again, restarted it, it showed the battery at 80% but after the restart, at least I was able to sync it, though it didn't save any of the data.
Unfortunately, I feel like this is going to become more and more common and possibly something I will have to do every couple of days.

The watch was given to me as a gift about.. I want to say 3 years ago but I don't recall exactly. I know it's past its life expectancy and not in warranty anymore but it's become a daily necessity of mine.
We'll see how it goes.

Hello.  I understand this is a known Alta problem.

 

I began charging my Alta nightly when I began experiencing this problem recently, as I don't wear it overnight.  However, when  it turned off in the evening, after only wearing it from mid morning, I just called Customer Support.

 

They only told me that it was a known issue, and advised that a new Alta might have the same problem.  Frustrating.  Any suggestions?

They build them in such a way that they go bad after a few years; they want you constantly needing to buy another upgrade; Google needs your money, poor things.

Absolute junk!  Throw it out and get something else. Company makes useless sound like a compliment.
