My Alta turns itself off and won’t turn back on till placed on charger. I just took it off charge this morning and it has a medium battery life any suggestions? It was working fine till the beginning of April and now it keeps turning off. i am not sure if the update has anything to do with this? it is very frustrating.

I have done several restarts as per instructions and I don’t have any issues with charging my Alta. But according to the app, it’s at the 75% battery level that it starts turning off and keeps doing so until I charge it up again.

I have been having the same issue for the past few weeks. Once my Alta gets to about 45 percent it just shuts off until it is plugged into a charger. It is super frustrating. I’ve tried the steps to reset, but it still persists. I decided to use my sons Alta that he got for Christmas a couple of years ago and wore for maybe a day. So pretty much a new Alta. Set it up with my phone today and it did the exact same thing. Just shut off and had 75 percent battery. I am seriously considering going to a different brand. It is beyond ridiculous.

I’m having the exact same problem! I was given my Fitbit in April as a birthday gift and now I can barely use it. Today I hit My step count and it shutdown, I plug it in and sure enough it’s still charged. I had bought my self the flex a year prior, it stopped tracking and I was told there was nothing that could be done, so I was out that money. I only gave the Alta a try because it was a gift. 😥

I’ve restarted multiple times. Aame issue continues to occur. This is my second Fitbit product that has given me problems. First it was the Flex, which now just sits In a drawer. I got the Alta as a gift, even more issues. I think my Fitbit days are over, which is sad, but I can’t shell out anymore money on these products.

Hi there,
I’m having the same problem with my FitBit where it keeps turning itself off until I put it on charge and it says it has half-full battery.
I don’t know how to restart my Alta as my charger doesn’t have the button on it! Is there another way?

Hi!
I'm experiencing the same problem as well. I got my Fitbit Alta on last Sunday (2019.12.01) as a gift.
I charged it, and set it up with my iPhone 6 following the instructions with no problem. When I connected them, it installed a new verison, (now it says 21.40.02 when restarting.)
I'm using it for 3 days now, and it turns itself off whenever I get away from my phone. It also turns off sometimes for no reason (at least I know off). It is aways fully or medium charged (the battery didn't sink below 65% since then - at lest according to the App).
I tried everthing I read here: restarting a billion times, even deleted the device from my Fitbit profile, and set it up on an Android device, but it's all the same. It turns off every now and then. It's pretty annoying, because I don't have access to an outlet to plug it in for restart, when I leave the house.
Please help me with this problem, because I really like the device, and don't want to buy a new one just yet.

My alta turns itself off too. And just turn on when I plug it., even with full battery. I tried to restart it, but it didn't restart.

Same thing happening to me. It turns itself off sometimes a few times a day. It restarts fine after input it on the charger and hit the reset button but I should not have to do this! I am so frustrated !

My Alta is doing the same thing. It will go for 2-3 days, and then just shut itself off. I put it on the charger, and it shows that it still has half to two thirds of a charge still on it. Frustrating. Not sure what to do at this point.
