My alter wouldn't sync after the Google Device Controls update. At the beginning of October. This was a terrible update. It also took away all ability for a screen capture. Lots of angry users.
I've tried the following steps
Is there a component in the fitbit the just degrades to the point of no longer functioning? This Alta HR is my third fitbit. I can't afford to replace them every two years. I absolutely love my Alta HR but I'm not ever going to buy another Fitbit. The quality track record is horrible.

Why was this reported?

Mods please DELETE this topic. It's ridiculous that the 'product linked to' help forum only allows positive experiences. By definition that's not a help forum. I can't believe people take the time to "report me" but won't say a word of help. That's just Ugly
I requested my fitbit account be deleted totally.
I'm done!

Mine has also stopped syncing since 25th October update!
ive also tried all the above and agree it’s a bit ridiculous after 2yrs of owning the product for it to stop working.

My Alta HR last synced Friday October 23, 2020, 1:02am Eastern Time. Ever since then, it'll try to sync and say "Syncing" but then it will say "Sync failed". No error messages or error logs or anything in the app to help further diagnose the problem. I've rebooted the phone, turned Bluetooth off and back on, reset the Alta HR by long-pressing the button on the charging cord 3 times, force stopped the app, updated to newest version in Play Store. The Alta HR has never been paired to the phone via the Android Bluetooth menu, it is only paired via the Fitbit app on the phone.
Alta HR Firmware: 26.26.63.2
Fitbit Android App Version: 3.32 (20243531)
Phone: Blackberry KEYone BBB100-1
Android Version: 8.1.0 build ABY299
Some help from Fitbit support would be nice.

Mine stopped syncing on Sat 31st. I have tried everything you have and now can't get it to re-connect either. Really frustrating!!! 🤬

Mine also refuses to sync since last app update. It also changed my display screen clock. Tried to contact customer service with zero help and keep getting referred to forums. I’ve also done all above steps. I’m ready to throw it in the trash

Alta HR stopped syncing Oct28 with Google Pixel 2 XL. Been thru all the trouble shooting steps with support chat with no luck. Final answer "wait for email with warranty options"
Seems like this is a firmware problem that just needs an update.

Mine stopped syncing to my pixel 3 yesterday, but I could finally get it to sync to my surface pro. How to get Pixel to sync?

Same here, my Alta HR suddenly stopped syncing. Did anyone get a reply on this topic??

This happened to me as well. I tried to set it up again and the 3 suggestions for trouble shooting as well as restarting my phone before I came here. It is curious to me that the alta HR will give me a code when asked to sync, but my Pyxel 2 says it cannot connect after that.
This is frustrating as it still works otherwise. I got a charge 3 from my husband and his still syncs with my phone, however, the screen has gone dark and it is no longer a "watch".

I'm having the same problem as well. I have a Pixel 3A XL. My alta hr stopped tracking my sleep so I made the stupid mistake of disconnecting it in order to try to resynchronize it and it totally backfired on me. Now my Fitbit can't or won't connect to my phone.
I've been a customer for 5 years and this is the first time something like this has happened. This is even a brand new Alta HR that I bought to replace my old one and nothing works.
I've tried all the things mentioned here from uninstalling to resetting to praying at this point. My phone and Fitbit can see each other because the 4 confirmation numbers appear but it's the "connecting" that's the issue. I get the same message about full battery, keep Fitbit close, etc and nothing.
If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. I really hope Fitbit isn't trying to force us to buy new fitbits by providing shifty service to their older models.
I would rather go with a new service that treats their customer right than to deal with this.

I have solved the issue the same way I solved the problem when I first got my Alta HR and it couldn't even pair to my phone. See Step 9 below.
I've performed the official Fitbit troubleshooting steps several times:
1) Force quit the Fitbit app, then reopen it.
2) On your phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth off and back on.
3) If your Fitbit device doesn't sync, restart it. For instructions see How do I restart my Fitbit device?
4) Open the Fitbit app.
5) If your Fitbit device doesn't sync, restart your Android phone.
6) Open the Fitbit app.
7) If your Fitbit device doesn't sync, uninstall and reinstall the Fitbit app.
😎Open the Fitbit app.
The ONLY step that fixes the problem is Fitbit's Step 9:
9) If your device doesn't sync, log in to your Fitbit account on a different phone, tablet, or computer and try to sync.
Prior to doing Step 9, I logged out of the Fitbit app on my primary Android phone (Blackberry KEYone BBB100-1 Android 8.1.0 patch level June 5,2019), uninstalled the app, removed all linked devices in my Android's Bluetooth config screen, turned on Airplane Mode, then using a second Android phone (Samsung Galaxy A9 Android 8.0.0 patch level August 1,2020) that already had Location Services enabled and Bluetooth enabled, logged in to my account, pulled the screen down to refresh, and it took over 5 minutes saying "Syncing" and eventually I got "Sync Complete".
I then logged out of my account on the second Android phone, logged into Fitbit account on my primary Android phone, then pulled the screen down to refresh and it worked like it should.
After doing this "enhanced Fitbit Step 9 troubleshooting procedure", my Alta HR has been working properly for over a week now.

Mine alta won't sink from the computer shortcut on desktop but will still synch and work from link in search window on IE. Perhaps that will help.

why does the fitbit reply option change my spelling to incorrect words when I typed it correctly?
