My fitbit wont turn on

I am a first time owner of a fitbit alta and it won't turn on. I tried double tapping it and even tried to look at my fitbit and nothing happened. Can I have any suggestions on how to get it to turn on.

Hi @RavenAnderson04  the Alta series was retired a few years ago. If it's been laying around, you'll want to do a restart of it to see if it can be brought back to life. When it's on the charger, press the button on the cord (closest to the usb end) three times, pausing briefly inbetween presses. The Fitbit logo will appear on the screen with the firmware number. A restart is similar to rebooting a computer or phone - it puts things back into place and often solves a glitch. If restarting it a few times doesn't help, it might be the battery is completely depleted and the Alta is dead.

I have Alta as well, I no longer have a working “reset” charger

cord, however, my Alta does bring up the version of firmware,it charges fully, wear it but after an hour battery depletes suoer

fast, wonder IF there might be any chance if I locate a charger with “reset” button, if it will fix my Alta—I’m hoping it does—worth a chance at least.

@E-R-I-K-A  Fitbit online store has the authentic Alta charger - click to go there - scroll down to almost the bottom of the page. If you're getting a full charge, but it dies quickly, that is a sign your Alta might be dying.

I am having same type of issues.  If the Alta is dying does that mean it's no good anymore and just needs replacement?

Hi @Lidymom when they drain quickly and can't hold a charge and restarting the device doesn't work, it normally is that it's dying. I had a Flex that did the same thing right before it died.
