I've had this same problem for the past few weeks. The display shows when it's plugged up, but other than that, it's completely blank.

Hello @mamateer! Welcome to the Community Forums! 🙂

I'm sorry you're also having problems with this 😕

Have you already tried to restart your tracker? If not, you can easily do this by clipping your tracker to the charger and plugging the charger to a USB port on your computer or a wall charger. Then, Press the button on your charging cable three times within four seconds and your tracker should vibrate and show the Fitbit logo. This will make your tracker to reboot.

Try that out and let me know how it goes!

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, this is the same thing Support
suggested, but it didn't work and sadly the warranty for my Alta has passed
the year mark so FitBit wouldn't replace it nor am I able to use it or the
10+ bands I've purchased to use with it. So disappointing...

Thanks for getting back @mamateer! 🙂

I'm sorry that you've already tried this and it didn't work 😕

Now, when it comes to  the warranty of your tracker, in most cases, when you're already out of your warranty, our team will offer a discount on the purchase of a new tracker, so you might want to check your inbox to see if this was offered. If you don't see anything like this and you're interested in something like that, let me know so that I can check with the Support Team what are the available options at this point.

Anything else, let me know!

They offered a small discount that would've saved me a few dollars, but I
passed as it was cheaper to just get a new Charge 2 from Amazon, where I've
purchased several fitbits for myself, friends & family. It's just
disappointing since I've bought numerous bands (10+) for the Alta, plus the
cost of it ($140) and was only able to use it for a bit over a year. It
stopped working shortly after the one year mark.

Just seems it has to be a software issue if I can see the display only when
it's plugged up & charging. When not plugged up, it's completely black and
doesn't respond to tapping it. I haven't tested to see if it's actually
recording steps or not...

I have the same issue with my Alta too. I bought it from Amazon and even got a 3 years extended warranty for it. No display, my app can not find it, does  not sync, and no display. Sent it for repair. I was told it had no problem and sent it back to me. Still nothing. I have to send it back again. When I saw your post I saw I'm not the only one with this issue!

Hi Fariba,

I am having the same problem with my Alta. I talked to customer service today, and since my device is out of warranty, they just offered me a 25% discount to buy a new one. Why would I want to buy a new one if the one I have has a manufacturing defect and they are not backing up their product? I expected more from Fitbit. I guess we'll start looking for a different device from a company that actually cares about their customers.
