Hi all,
My Alta HR for the past couple of weeks has been acting a bit weird with me and has decided I’m constantly in the fat burning zone. It acknowledges my actual resting heart rate which is 55bpm but just now for example it’s says it’s 95bpm in fat burning zone? This is not normal for me and it also is not tracking my sleep because of this as it’s acting like I’m in fat burning zones over 100bpm all the time! Sometimes it will be seven hours a day.. this is also annoying because I’ve tried every suggestion in other forums about the same problem and it’s not changed it. So I have reset my Fitbit, it has been on ‘Auto’ on the heart rate settings, the resting heart rate is matched with my age etc, it’s fully charged. Can anyone PLEASE suggest something, and please don’t advice me that this is now my heart rate as it’s not and I have checked. Thank you! 🙏

Hi there, you know what, the exact same happened to me!
My resting heart rate is usually around 70bpm, but I was getting results between 100-120 even when sitting/relaxing. I contacted fitbit's customer services (who are useless by the way) and they told me to set it to auto, which did not help, as well as changing my heart rate zones (which wouldn't affect the fitbit's reading anyway).
I ended up buying a new device (Charge 2) as I didn't know what else to do - the step tracking was also very inaccurate on the Alta HR. I think that the heart rate sensors have improved a lot in newer models, so maybe think about upgrading to the Inspire HR/Charge 4. That's the only advice I have for you, I'm afraid. I had a bad experience with the Alta HR, not a very long-lasting device in my opinion.
Hope this helps! 🙂
