No option to turn off calendar notifications

Hi everyone,

Just today my Alta started showing me calendar notifications. I did not turn this on, nor did the app or my OS update on my phone, so I am not sure why it just started today.

While it's a neat feature, I would actually like to turn it off, but the option for that is not in the Notification setting (as outlined in this help article). I've logged in and out, but the option still does not appear.

I have a Nexus 6P running Android 8.1.0. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome to the Forums @Cyndera! Thanks for sharing your experience with Alta and for sharing the troubleshooting steps you performed before posting here.

This sounds odd. To make sure that your tracker is communicating correctly with the app, log out and reboot it. Once you phone is up and log back in. After that, try again to remove your calendar notifications.

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap the Account icon and then, tap your device image.User-added imageTap Notifications.
  2. Tap the type of notification you wouldn't like to receive (Text Messages, Calendar Events, Emails, or App Notifications), and make sure it's turned off.
  3. Sync your device.

If after this is not working, setup your tracker as a replacement device.

I hope this helps, keep me posted!

option to turn off calendar notifications. I would like to return this device.

Calendar is not an option in my notification so I can’t turn it off or on. Just want to get rid of message that is impeding my ability to see features on Fitbit.

There is no option to choose calendar under notifications. Please advise. Thanks! (Charge 3, iphone with current IOS 13.6)

Just wanted to jump in – I think I found the communication issue here. There are two sets of notification menus, one on the Fitbit website and one with the Fitbit App on your mobile device. The website doesn't have the notification setting to remove specific notifications, but the mobile app does

I'm looking in the mobile app now, and it isn't there either.

Yeah, I'm getting calendar notifications nearly 20 times per day. It's the most frustrating thing.

Just found it!

There are actually two places: click on your account, then click on the photo of your device, then there it'll say "notifications" and within that tab, it'll give you the option. THANK GOSH.

Thank you LucyAP! I just got my Fitbit last week and those darn calendar events started popping up two days ago about every 15 or 20 minutes. It was driving me crazy, and I could not find a way to turn it off. There are two different locations in the Fitbit app for Notifications. I had only found the other one, so I was so happy to see your post to point me in the right direction. problem solved!

This is the best answer!!! Why do they have two notification sections is beyond me. But thank you so very much!

I’m so glad I was able to help. I could totally understand the frustration as I went through it myself.

I have the same issue, only with Charge 4 and an ipad fitbit app.  These calendar notifications prevent me from seeing what I want to see.  Very annoying, and I see no way to get rid of them.

When I try to change notifications in the photo of the device the notifications option is just showing that it’s loading and doesn’t let me click on it to change them! This is SO annoying! Calendar invites for all-day events literally vibrating on my wrist and waking me up in the middle of the night.
