Requires restart every 1-2 days

A couple of weeks ago my fitbit went dead -- no display, wouldn't sync, wouldn't charge, even though the battery was not dead.  I did the reset by repeatedly pushing the button on the charging cord, and it came back to life -- for a couple of days.  Since then, every 1-2 days it goes dead again and I have to do the reset.  It happens randomly, so I'm getting gaps in my data between when it goes dead and when I realize it's dead and restart it.  Is it dying, or is this a firmware issue?

How old is your device, and for how many months was the battery left dead to self destruct?

I bought it 2 years ago and I have been using it continually since then. The battery was not left dead.

I've just got the same problem, had it 2 years, has kept crashing every few days for the last 3 weeks. Always wear it and charge it regularly.

I'm having a similar issue too. Got the Alta HR in 2017. I left it unused for 8 1/2 months, charged it again this April and had a little trouble getting to sync initially. After a day or two it fully synced and it was perfect for about 4 weeks.

Two days ago it crapped out - no display. No response when I put it to the charge cable. It did start up when I hit the reset but syncing again took a long while. The heart rate readings seemed low so I gently cleaned the back of the sensor with a swab and a little isopropyl alcohol.

Now I've discovered it has crapped out again and didn't record any sleep last night. Restart has seemingly worked for now but this may be the beginning of a cycle of power downs.

Any help is appreciated!
