How do I reset calories burned?

I just opened the box and synced my Fitbit today, I haven't even been wearing it an hour and it says calories burned = 1,373 ? I've taken 86 steps, minus about 20 where the step count went up while I was sitting. Wtf?

I want calories burned to say 0 ? How do I reset it to that?

That would include your BMR (basal metabolc rate) calories so far today.  Those are the calories you are always burning just by being alive.  They are always counted by Fitbit even when you are not wearing the tracker.

See How does Fitbit estimate how many calories I've burned?

Calories will reset to zero at midnight.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

You don't take 87 steps and burn 1200 calories while sitting....

According to my Versa 2 I have burned 10,863 KCal today.  Nah, not even when I was hiking 20 miles a day on the PCT,  How do I get my watch to zero the calories each MN?

How do you reset calories to zero?  Calorie counter is not correct especially if you are not exercising.
