I recently got a Samsung A50 phone. I have tried to connect my fitbit alta to the phone but it isn't working. Does Fitbit support the use of a Samsung A50 and if not when will it be supported?

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @dpatten ! It's great to see you around @WendyB ! I am sorry for the delayed response.

@dpatten Congratulations on your new Samsung A50 phone! While your phone is not a supported device for the Fitbit app at this moment, it doesn't mean that it won't work with the app entirely, but rather that some of its functions might work intermittently. Our engineering team works really hard to keep up with every new phone and mobile device releases, so our customers can enjoy their trackers to the fullest. I recommend keeping an eye on this page, as it will be listed there when your device is fully supported: Which phones and tablets can I use with my Fitbit watch or tracker?

For troubleshooting steps, please see Why won't my Fitbit device sync?

@WendyB thank you for the helpful tips and suggestions!

Welcome to the forums!

The supported device list is here

If not there I'm sure it will be. But it takes time to test all the new phones coming out.

You will need to set up on the computer until then.

To download software or App

To set it up

If you have trouble see this Article on Why cant I set up my Fitbit?

Hope to see you around the forums more!

@MrsELA thank you for joining the conversation. I understand your concern, we don't have a specific date or time-frame of when the Samsung A50 will be listed as compatible but please keep an eye on this list as our team is constantly updating it. I also recommend checking the following help article with useful information: What should I know about using the Fitbit app on my Android device? You can confirm the steps to set up notifications in this help article: How do I get notifications from my phone on my Fitbit device?

Any update on the galaxy A50? Bought a charge 3 and it didn't work on my old phone so assumed it would be ok on a brand new phone. Frustrated!

Hello everyone, thank you for joining this thread. I am sorry for the delayed response.

I appreciate the time that each of you took to share your feedback. While Samsung A50 has the specifications to be compatible and may work with the Fitbit app, it's possible to come across some issues along the way since it is not a supported device for the Fitbit app at this moment. I appreciate your understanding while we work to improve this experience.

Is there a possible ETA on when the Fitbit App will be compatible with the A50? Is it even being worked on becoming compatible?

I just got the phone today and very disappointed to discover that my fitbit will not work on it. I do not use the computer to keep track of my fitbit as I do not have access to my computer all the time. Seeing that it has been months already where there is nothing to make it compatible is disappointing.

Same for me. Went to a store and asked if the phone and the charge 3 are compatible and I was told there was no problem because the A50 comes with android 9 and bluetooth 5.0.

Now after 4 months nothing is working anymore. No synching, therefore no notifications, incorrect time, no alarm clock... I'm frustrated! The support told me to follow like 100 steps but nothing worked. I was told to use a 'compatible device' then. Funny, I just got a new phone and because it's not working with the Charge 3 I'm just buying one of the phones from the 'compatible' list. Not! Thinking about switching to Samsung, I can't use the charge 3 anymore because there is no way to make it synch. Wasted money, wasted time.

Thank you for your quick response. It seems to be syncing now. I guess when I transferred files from my old Samsung to the new A50 I didn't have the latest update of the Fitbit App. I went to Play store, updated and I was able to sync my Inspire HR to the A50. I haven't tested every option but it is recording my stats.

Same here. Extremely disappointed that my fitbit alta hr will not work with me new galaxy A50. Guess after being a loyal fitbit user for years I will have to look into getting something else. I don't want to but I miss my notifications.
