Alta screen is so dim, it's unusable in sunlight, or even normal indoor light. I could only see readout in dim light. Not cool.
Worse, it comes loose too easily, and it's fallen right off my wrist a few times. It fell off two days ago and I have no idea where that happened because i didn't notice it when it happened. It could be at somewhere home, in my car, at the grocery store... I've looked in all the places where I think it could, but no luck. So now it doesn't matter that the screen is too dim, because my Fitbit (which I'd only had for a couple of weeks) might well be gone for good.

Or any free phone bluetooth locator app, but must be done before Fitbit battery dies.
Wondering how you just bought an Alta HR. That has been discontinues for several years.

Thank you for your reply and suggestion. Not an AltaHR, just a plain ol' Alta. (Not that it really matters.) And I bought it on Ebay, brand-new, in the box.

My mistake; don't know where I got the HR part.

@calimermaid if you just bought it, can you return it and get your money back? The Alta is an older device. It was discontinued in 2019. Even if the one you bought is new to you, it's still at least 4 years old. Rechargeable batteries have a shelf life and yours may be near the end. That could lead to a dim display, but the Alta was never that bright, even when it was new. There are current devices, like the Luxe and Inspire 3, that have much nicer displays.
