Just now my alta fitbit would not charge. I tried a new charging adaptor and still no luck.It looks like the receiving dots on the fitbit are tarnished.

Have a look at Fitbit's troubleshooting guide for charging issues at Help article: Why isn't my Fitbit device's battery charging?

 

This includes recommendations for maintaining the charging connections (which involves "rubbing alcohol"!)
