Hi there, @chandos89 - Let’s try a little troubleshooting. Can you please let me know - Which phone do you have? Have you installed the Fitbit app and did you setup your Alta from within the app?  Here is a link to the Alta Manual. And here is a direct link with information on setting it up

 

If this info does not help, please provide more detail, such as how long you’ve had this Alta and is this a new problem?  Looking forward to hearing back from you.

Have had the fit bit altra for approx a year .This has happened twice where in the middle of the night I tap device , and blank. I plug in and it shows incorrect time and no steps , but battery is charged. After being plugged in for awhile it corrects itself.

Hello again, @chandos89 . You should try restarting your Alta 2 or 3 times. Instructions are below. The button is at the end of the cable that connects to the computer or wall adapter. If this does not help, please let me know which phone you have.

Thanks will try that next time it happens, but I will still have plug it in and have lost all unrecorded steps till I notice that it’s not recording.Oh well. Do not have phone ,is a fit bit wrist unit. Thanks again

@chandos89 - I’m so glad you mentioned you do not have a phone! That is the problem. Your Fitbit device will pick up the correct time and start counting/saving steps after you set it up on a phone and sync it. Syncing to the Fitbit app on your phone will store your steps so you don’t lose them.

Don’t have a cell phone and don’t want one. Fit bit has been working fine for over a year, I was thinking it may have something to do with fit bits HQ end
