The other day I found my fitbit alta that I haven't used in a few years. Unfortunately, I could not find the charger so I ordered one and just had it plugged in all night. The screen didn't light up or anything when I plugged it in, tapped it, or tried restarting it... what's my problem?

Hi @lolar did you purchase an authentic Fitbit charger for your Alta HR? It needs the button on it to restart it. When a device has had a dead battery for a long time, you need to restart it a few times to revive it. Sometimes they don't come back to life. Never leave any Fitbit on the charger overnight.

It was worth a shot, right? Maybe it's not too late to return the charging unit. You know there are Mother Day Sales going on and the Inspire series replaced the Alta series. Might be worth looking into.

Having a dead battery for a few years may have destroyed the battery.

try pressing 3 times in 4 secs and then hold for 5 secs. repeat until completely revived.
