I've logged out & then in again, turned the Bluetooth off & on again, restarted my phone & still no joy. Any ideas what else I can do?

Hi all,

Has anyone tried a reset? Put the device on the charger as if you were going to charge it and then plug the charger into a computer. On the cable, you will notice a black button. Press this rapidly and repeatedly for 3-4 seconds. When you feel a vibration and see the Fitbit logo, you have successfully restarted your tracker!

Yes, I've tried the reset but the problem still exists

Try following this sequence (it works for me!)

Restart your tracker at least three times

Then go to Bluetooth settings on your phone and unpair the tracker, Turn Bluetooth off and restart your phone.  Turn bluetooth back on and try syncing again, making sure there are NO other bluetooth devices within range (or they are switched off)

Restart your tracker

Let us know how you go.

I am having the same problem. It was working perfectly till Monday now it refuses to sync. Tried it on a different phone and that cannot see the tracker .  Switched the tracker on and off several times, that does not work.

Are you kidding?????  Apollo 13 astronauts didn't have to go through that many procedures.  Why can we not have an app that does what is required without these ridiculous strings of procedures!!  We pay enough for the devices to expect something that works.

There is no black button on the cable.

@disgruntled9 As you said in your previous post you have an Ionic (this is the Alta HR forum) I moved your post to Ionic and answered you there. To repeat what I said - there is a black button on the Alta HR charging cable. There is NOT a button on the Ionic cable. If your questions are about the Ionic please post in the Ionic Forum. Nelly - I apologize if by posting I stirred someone up. I just didn't want a minute to go by without thanking you for your solution. I had tried everything I could think of - uninstalling and reinstalling the Fitbit app, restarting the tracker, trying nearly ten "solutions" posted online before I found yours - and yours was the only one that worked. I never thought to turn the Bluetooth off and back on again. Within minutes of trying your solution, my phone found my tracker and it uploaded all of my missing steps! I was so afraid I'd have to disconnect my tracker from the Fitbit app and lose all those steps. I printed off your solution in case I ever run into that problem again. Thank you so very, very, very much!!! Have a blessed day!! 🙂

Thank you!!!  That absolutely did the trick.  I've tried everything else with no success.  Resetting my Fitbit Alta HR was the key!

I think the key thing is to turn off bluetooth on any other devices nearby. I was able to get my HR hooked up to my ipad, phone, and computer by turning off bluetooth on all, then turning on one at a time and hooking up the HR to it alone.

Thanks NellyG.  This process worked for me.  I had tried all your steps except the restart of my phone.

Restarting my phone did the trick.  Thank You, Thank You, Thank You.

I've had my Fitbit month and now it does this? The solutions offered are complicated. Is it worth it? Maybe if I spin around three times, hold my breath and throw a coin over my shoulder?

I’m having same issues with my Alta HR and I have a I phone and it’s not tracking none of my steps to my phone no more since June 15th 2018 and I have called several times for help and done all these steps that I’m reading about now it’s not tracking my heartbeat. Need more answers I’ve tried everything I’ve been told to do right down to going to Verizon and then closing the app and adding it back in my phone for me.
