2.75 seems to have broken GPS connection

My versa was doing really well staying connected to GPS or at the very least the app was tracking the route properly so I could upload to strava and fix the distance (which was usually a minimal fix).   Tuesday, Wed and today connection issues got progressively more and more and its at issue at the app level not the app and watch talking level b/c the map generated by the app is off too  - the app seems to have lost GPS connection as well and then tries to connect the points it does have with a straight line

My best guess is a version update.  the issue did seem to start before 2.75 was pushed out (since I had some issues on Tues) but they were much much worse yesterday and today so maybe tuesday was an unrelated hiccup??

Anyone else finding GPS connection issues at the app level?

Hi @LanuzaFitbit,

I do have a few additional questions if you don't mind.

1. How long can I stay on v2.74.2?

Do older versions expire and get cut off from your servers?

2. Is there a roadmap for Android 9 support?

When can we expect full support for Android 9 and how are you going about this? Is it gonna be incremental updates as usual until you get it working or is there an all new version (new API's) in development?

3. How to use mapmyrun/strava?

What I'd like to know, before I bother with 3rd party solutions is: does their data merge with Fitbit's?

Will the data be added/merged with my runs from Fitbit, so I can see heart rate/calories/map/pace/time/etc. like on a normal run I track with Fitbit or is the data split between different apps with that approach?

4. Is there a way to get Fitbit to sync with Google Fit?

Thanks for your time.

Hello @SunsetRunner!

Let me answer your questions:

  1. Technically you could stay on that version perpetually.
  2. Unfortunately I do not have any roadmap that I could share regarding Android 9. The moment we're ready to share something we'll do so with everyone.
  3. Data is synced from Fitbit to MapMyRun so you'd have the information over there. For Strava, they would both share information. For example, if you track something with Strava then that will be logged into your Fitbit account later.
  4. At the moment it is not possible. Having said that, maybe you could support this suggestion to integrate it with. You can vote for it to do so. Be sure to read the FAQ if you have any further questions on that board.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

How do you get an older version of the app and what are the steps to install it?
