3 Years of Water History Gone!

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hi,

I just had to rebuild my Android Galaxy Note 4 and found that though most of my data is ok, it seems to have lost the history for my water consumption 😞

3 years of using the app and now it shows 0ml for every day.

I've come online on a laptop to check the website and it seems to be gone there too.

Anybody had this issue? Anybody know how I can get the history back?

This is so disappointing.

F.

Hello @frangutz.

Thanks for bringing this up and sharing this situation with us.

I'd like to ask some questions to better understand what is going on:

  • Did any other information disappear? Was the food affected by this?
  • Did you use to log water on the app directly or another way?
  • What Android version are you running on your phone?

Look forward to your reply.

Hi There,

I was logging info only through the app. I didn’t log food – just water – so food was not an issue.

I’m running the latest version of Fitbit app – always kept it updated.

In terms of Android,  it is version 6.0.1 – I use a Galaxy Note 4.

Hope this helps.

Franco.

Hello @frangutz.

Thanks for reaching back with those details.

I'd like to ask some further questions:

  • No other data is gone, correct? All else is showing on the app, correct?
  • Is it possible that you created a separate account at some point and the water was logged to that other account by mistake?

Look forward to your reply.

Hi,

all other data is fine. No issues there.

I am pretty sure I did not create another account - I didn't know you could log into the app with 2 seperate accounts at once. But if that is possible let me know - but like I said, I only have 1 Fitbit account.

Hello @frangutz.

I apologize for the delay in my response. Thanks for reaching back with those details.

In this case I'd like to ask that you try clearing the app's cache and check if that helps with the information to show up again. You can click here to find steps on how to do it.

If that doesn't work then let's try uninstalling the app and then installing it once again.

Look forward to your reply.

Hello @frangutz.

Thanks for bringing this up and trying the steps I recommended.

All of the information should be stored in our servers so that it is not lost like that. I'd like to ask you to confirm if any other data was affected. If steps or calories were also lost like this.

Look forward to your reply.

It's most likely:
1) You're logged into the wrong Fitbit account
2) You weren't logging your water directly in the Fitbit app and was logging it in another app that was syncing it into Fitbit, so naturally it would be lost when reinstalling
3) If you did in-fact log it in the Fitbit app directly, then it's just a visual bug. Tap the water card inside the Fitbit app and you should see all your water log numbers. You just won't have a visual log of it with the filled water bottle
