Hi there,
I have an older phone and I'm still locked into a cell plan with it. It did work great up until a couple of months ago and now it is no longer on the list of phones that work with my fitbit and the app.
Is there a way to get back the older app that did work? Or am I fitbit app free until I get a new phone?
Thanks,
Joe

Hello @Bigbadjoe108, good to see you again in the Fitbit Community. I'm wondering what type of mobile device you have? It's not common we remove devices from our list since this may caused confusion to our users.
While many Android devices have all the requirements to sync with Fitbit trackers, not all devices are able to be accessed by apps like the Fitbit App. Nonetheless I would like to know what you are experiencing with your Fitbit app? Perhaps we can find a workaround.
About your concern to have access to older versions of the app, note that officially is not possible and we do not recommend to do this, since with newer version we address glitches or stability problems that older versions were causing.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Good morning Roberto,
Thank you so much for your reply. I have an LG X Power and up until about a month ago, it worked fine with my Blaze. One, or two, updates since, and my phone kept crashing.
No problems at all with the previous versions of the app at all, in fact I pretty much tried to sell the Blaze to everyone I met cause I liked it so much!!!
Right now the workaround we use is just using my wife's phone. That said, I miss being able to track stuff myself!
Any guidance at all would be appreciated!
Joe

Unfortunately newer versions of apps introduce other, more serious, glitches. For example, version 2.50 of the app has a serious bug where it is very difficult to enter food weight and serving size when adding food entries. Every time something is entered, the app deletes it and puts in the previous value. It takes 5 attempts to get it entered, and you have to be quick! This has been reported in the forums, and still yet to be resolved. The last version of the app worked perfectly.

Hello @Bigbadjoe108 and thank you for joining us @MattJ71. I'm sorry I haven't reply anything lately.
In your case @Bigbadjoe108, I saw you mentioned it keep crashing. Can you let me know when is happening this behavior? Is at your login screen or when you just open the app in general? Aside from crashing can you tell if the app only shows a blank screen?
This issue you are mentioning is not longer listed as bug since it was resolved, which version of the Fitbit app are you running @MattJ71?
There is a new version for Android (2.51), which I recommend to install in both scenarios. In addition you can try also the steps I provided to this user. You can find the post here and the case is different but the steps apply for this too; so if the issue persists, give it a try.
See you soon and for more questions just let me know.

Hi Roberto,
Thank you so much for all your help. My thing is that now my device is no longer listed as compatible anyway, hence my need for an older version of the app.
Not a big deal. Loaded the app on my wife's much newer phone. No problems now for the uploading!

@RobertoME I am using Version 2.51 and the problem is still there. Nothing has changed since 2.50. And it's not on just one device, the problem existed on Android 6.0.1 on my BlackBerry Priv and now exists on Android 7.1.1 on my BlackBerry KeyOne.

Hi there @Bigbadjoe108 and @MattJ71 good to see you again!
@Bigbadjoe108 I understand the need of an older version, in which case if your phone is not listed as compatible anymore is due to the OS version is running. This will depend of the manufacturer support, as sometimes the OS version is not longer compatible with the version of the Fitbit app. In this case your phone will allow the installation for the most compatible version of Fitbit, but this versions may present issues at the moment to work. Nonetheless I'm glad to hear you are syncing with no further hassle on your wife's phone.
@MattJ71 I'm sorry to hear the issue still persists, however now that you mentioned the phone models where are you experiencing issues, these are not listed as compatible so we cannot predict what would be the behavior of the app. There are many Android devices under test that has all the capabilities to sync, however Blackberry and other brands like Amazon Kindle are not compatible with many features the Fitbit app has to offer. Is at this instance where I can suggest to use your online-Dashboard to log your information in case the App is failing.
To see the latest list of supported devices, please go to http://www.fitbit.com/devices.
Catch ya later until the next time and I appreciate your understanding while we work to improve the Fitbit experience.

@RobertoME In response to your compatibility statement, the BlackBerry PRIV and KEYone are Android devices, no different than any other Android device, except BlackBerry has a tendency to release updated software regularly compared to other device manufactures.
I never had this issue before with the previous versions of the app, so I would suggest that the bug that was thought to be corrected still exists.

My Flex stopped syncing on Sunday August 11. I've been on chat with Fitbit support, and it is still not solved. Since it was working before, I suspect that version 3.3 broke something. May I please be allowed to try version 3.2?

Sadly funny that this thread started in 2017.
Five years and counting since the start of a thread asking how one can revert back to an earlier release since the latest introduced more/worse problems than it resolved.
And it continues today.
