Activity distance doesn't count to daily distance

I did a decent cycle of 38 kms and it shows up in my activities. However, on my dashboard with steps, distance, etc it only shows 2.5kms which is just what I walked throughout the day. Is this a glitch? What can I do to fix it?

Daily distance includes only step-based, walking or running.  There is no way to change that.

Very frustrating that there is this glitch with the Fitbit app.

I disagree this is a glitch.  A 10 mile bike ride is nowhere the work of a 10 mile run.  There have been many discussions on this topic, not worth repeating here, but I strongly believe it is intentional, and not a "glitch/bug" as you imply.
