Adding steps manually

I am using a Google Pixel 7a smartphone with a Pixel Watch 2.

During the day, I use this setup to track my activities, such as steps and distance walked while I am at work.

However, there are days when I do not wear my watch, like today. On those days, I still walk the same distance every time, around 4 kilometers and approximately 6,000 steps. I would like to add this data manually afterward so that my activity overview remains complete.

Unfortunately, I cannot find any option to manually add steps or distance. In the app, I can only add sleep data, but there is no option to enter steps or walking distance afterward.

I have already contacted support, but my question was not properly understood, which is why I am asking it again here in a clearer way.

My specific question is:

How can I manually add steps or distance to the app after the fact?

I have already searched on Google and in the help forums, but the available instructions are quite old and none of the suggested solutions work for me.

This has become rather frustrating, as the activity data exists but apparently cannot be added manually.

I would really appreciate a current, working solution or a clear statement on whether this feature is no longer supported. I have Google Fit and Health Connect not installed.

Thanks

Hi @Tiefseegurke   I use iOS, not Android.  This path might or might not work.  Sometimes the two formats ere different from each other.

To add steps, you must manually log a Walk.  Do you have your Exercise Days tile on your Today page?  I do and I see Manually log Activity when I press on the green + button.  It disappears if I remove my Exercise days tile.  You don't add steps when you log a walk, you enter the distance and the app uses your stride length to calculate your steps.

I have an idea that might be easier.  If you always wear your phone, you can use your phone as an additional device.  Tap on the device/battery icon in the upper left of your Fitbit app, then add your phone as a device.  Help article

Thank you so much, this solved the issue! I was also able to connect my phone as second device.

Thank you! 🙃
