Addressing Fitbit's Autodetection Feature: The Need for Sports Label Customization

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Fitbit excels at automatic detection of physical activities. Its advanced algorithm identifies periods of increased heart rate and motion patterns, often  recording them under a 'generic sport' label. However, a prominent limitation must be addressed. Despite the high level of detail in activity tracking, there's a lack of customization in the activity label, hampering the overall user experience. As an example, take the case of a golf player whose 4-hour activity is registered by Fitbit as a 'generic sport.' The ability to subsequently use a drop-down box to select the appropriate activity would be great. The drop-down box would only need to contain activities from the previously identified activity group.

Sorry @rayelmore this where we ask for help from the community of fitbit users.

To give feedback, please use the Product Feedback Board

We do have the option to rename after a sync.

One issue I see is that arm movements differ with different activities, and would require different algorithms. Something a user will not be able to make
