After firmware update Charge 3 not syncing to Galaxy S7 and Fitbit screen is frozen

Since the firmware update 2 days ago, my charge 3 isn't working.  The face is frozen, so I can't do the canned reboot process.  Is there another way to reboot?  I updated firmware on Saturday , regrettably, and it charged to 100%.  On Saturday evening, the fitbit screen froze - I couldn't sync or reboot.  I ignored the problem and at some point it worked again.  On Sunday it synced after a hike, and the same problem happened again.  When it came back online 6 or 8 hours later, the battery was drained.  Woke up this morning, battery is drained.  I charged it, and when I unplugged it to put it back on the face is frozen again.  Is there a way to back out of the firmware update?  Is Fitbit working on this very prevalent issue?  It's been 4 hours and still frozen for the 3rd time in 2 days.

My Ionic would not sync after 3.1 upgrade as well, on Moto Z2 Force. I went through normal troubleshooting, but when I got to a Factor reset, the firmware update failed in the middle and bricked the Ionic. If your device is not under warranty, I would recommend you be very careful.
