I got an S8 about a week ago, and the all-day sync is not working. Additionally, I have my Fitbit set as a "trusted device" to keep my phone unlocked, and that is not working. It seems there is an issue with connectivity when my phone is locked/asleep. My Fitbit syncs without issue when I open the app, but it will not sync at all unless I open the app. I have tried:
- restarting my Fitbit
- turning Bluetooth off and on
- restarting my phone
- checking all settings and permissions
- reinstalling Fitbit app
I did see that there was previously an issue with syncing with the S8, but like I said, it pairs and syncs just fine if I open the app. It just won't connect unless I have the app open.
Edited to add: It's a Charge 2 if that matters.

Hello @bouncingsquares, good to see you have joined the Fitbit Community! I was reading you are having some troubles to sync when the app is not open. I'm curious to know if the app still is running in the background when it fails to sync?
Depending your Android device, these tips might make syncing easier:
I've saw another user who was having troubles with the option of trusted devices too. I can confirm there is not an issue related to this option but its behavior may vary depending of the brand of your phone.
See you around and hope this helps.

I guess I should have been more specific when I said that I checked all of my settings. Both "always connected" and "all-day sync" are turned on.
Yes, the app is running in the background.

Hello there @bouncingsquares, please accept my apologies since I've been absent. I'm wondering how it goes so far?
Thank you for letting me know additional details. Certainly this behavior is not normal, but today I was having an interaction with other user and it seems he was having a similar issue. The reason if the issue was because there was another Bluetooth source trying to sync while the phone was syncing with the tracker.
By any chance in case the issue persists, there is another device that you used to sync, nearby your phone? Your device has a Bluetooth "bond" with the phone or tablet that is syncing. This bond prevents the Fitbit device from syncing with another phone, tablet, or computer.
To quickly and temporarily disable the bond, turn off Bluetooth on your phone or tablet that is not in use at the moment. You can turn it back on later to resume syncing. Keep in mind this is only if you are in this scenario.
See you later and as always keep me posted.

No, I did not have another bluetooth device connected.
I noticed that my notifications to my Fitbit were turned off, and when I turned them on, everything started working properly again. It seems that in order for the Fitbit to stay connected to the S8, notifications have to be on. I did not have this issue with any previous phones, but that is the solution that I found here.

Hi there @bouncingsquares, thank you for keep me posted. Indeed, if this option is not On, it won't stay connected to keep receiving your notifications on your tracker.
Glad to hear you found the solution. See you later!

Yes, obviously it will not receive notifications if notifications aren't on; however, that wasn't my issue. My issue is that it was not syncing until I turned notifications on.
