All day sync is marked as off but is ignored by the app

Setup:

* Phone: Galaxy S3

* Charger HR - firmware 18.122

* Fitbit App (android) - version 2.33  (2183029)

* All day sync - disabled

I have been walking around the whole afternoon with my mobile phone in my bag, and it has been in the bag the full time.

When I came back home and before I synched my fitbit, I realized on the web dashboard that my steps where already registered. Furthermore, the weekend warrior challenge in which I am involved shows many notifications about me overtaking, or being overtaken by the other participants. These notifications are timestamped regularly across the afternoon, when my mobile phone was at the bottom of my bag.

This leads me to believe that my mobile phone synchs with my fitbit even when it is not supposed to.

This explains also why my mobile phone was being drained down so quickly latetly. The second, less enjoyable consequence, are the roaming costs I am currently getting as I am travelling!

Please fix this... It should not happen. 😞

Thanks for providing all these details @pierruk, there are two features that may be involved here, the  'Always Connected' feature is the one that allows you to stay connected to your phone/tablet via bluetooth but will not transfer your data unless you initiate a sync, and the 'All Day Sync' is the one that syncs data from the tracker to the Fitbit account, using of course Bluetooth and internet connection, if the All Day Sync is turned off it should not consume any of your data and it should not sync your information automatically.

If you haven't already done so, make sure you've properly turned off this feature, and if you continue to experience trouble, try logging out from the application, reboot your phone and access the Fitbit app once again. I hope this helps, keep me posted.

Mine does the same thing, and kills my phone battery life.

Thanks for the info @123456789J, as an alternative I would suggest to try turning the Bluetooth off in your mobile device settings to confirm if this helps to avoid the tracker from syncing automatically, it should not sync if the Bluetooth is off.

If you've already tried all of the steps mentioned above and you continue to find the same trouble, I do recommend that you get in touch with the Customer Support team for further assistance with this. Keep me posted.
