All-day sync won't work automatically with Fitbit HR

Since swapping over my S6 for an S8 about a month ago I've discovered that the Android App never seems to automatically sync any longer. I have to remember to go into it and manually trigger a sync.  Have tried restarting the phone, turning all-day sync off/on, symptoms persist

Hi there @ajft, nice to see you again in the Fitbit Community! If the option of all day-sync is On, and your tracker is not uploading data to your Dashboard automatically, then it means is not able to maintain a constant connection with your phone's Bluetooth.

Perhaps restarting your app will do the trick:

Please log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and review if your app syncs automatically.

Also have you tried to use the option of "Always Connected"? This setting improves the Bluetooth connection between your phone and Fitbit device. But keep in mind that turning on this feature may cause the battery on your Fitbit device to drain more quickly than normal.

See you around and hope this helps!

More reliable now, but still not completely reliable and I've twice needed to do manual synchs.  The one thing that has noticeably changed is that at the end of the day my phone battery is now down around 50% instead of around 75%.    The Fitbit HR is falling apart (just like my previous ones did) so I'm not that concerned, once the rubber case completes bubbling off and it snaps I'll bin it

The Fitbit HR has now got to a point where I can't sync at all.  Looking at the app last night I realised it says that the last sync is "Apr 10 at 12:17".  Pulling down to do a manual sync it appeared to work, reading in the current steps (about 8800) and displaying both them and the HR on the phone, but the data never made it to the fitbit website.

This morning both website and app still say that my last sync is "Apr 10 at 12:17".  I did a manual sync and it appeared to read in the current steps for today (approx. 2300), but showed zero for yesterday.

I restarted the fitbit and restarted the phone, tried to sync again and it says "Syncing..." for a few minutes and then goes back to saying Apr 10 at 12:17.

Walked through the purging app. cache and data, force-stop app, powered off phone, powered on phone, logged back in to app, which now of course says "0 steps" and pull down to do a manual sync, it sits there "Syncing...." and then goes back to 0.
