Alta HR no longer synching with my LG Rebel phone

I think this may be the end of my association with Fitbit - I purchased my Alta HR in October, 2017, and it worked fine with my LG Rebel L44VL for two months - in December, 2017, it stopped working around Christmas time, which is when Fitbit updated its app, and apparently it was no longer compatible with my phone.  I spent time here on the Alta help forums, and found a "work around" by way of an older version (2.55) of Fitbit, which I downloaded and ran on my phone for the past year - no problems, I was able to synch the Alta with my phone, and all was well.  As of this past Wednesday, December 26, 2018, my Alta no longer synchs with my phone Smiley Frustrated   I tried uninstalling the old version, installing the new version, tried turning Bluetooth off and on, to no avail.  I spent 40 minutes speaking with a lovely woman named Dorothy in Fitbit tech support today, trying all kinds of fixes and troubleshooting, but my Alta will not synch up.  Dorothy is sending me some kind of dongle to attach to my old Windows 7 laptop in the hopes of connecting the Alta via that dongle to Fitbit, but if that doesn't work, I will be looking for a new fitness tracker - I an not about to go out and buy a new phone just to make it "Fitbit" compatible!!  C'mon, Fitbit, why won't you enable your long time customers to keep their devices and get them working harmoniously?!   (PS - I was also disappointed to learn that my new Chromebook doesn't work with the Alta either - after over 4 years, I find it hard to believe you haven't developed an app that works with the Chromebook!!)

@julchek Welcome! It's great to see you around! Sorry to hear that your Alta HR isn't syncing with your phone. As you said your phone doesn't show as compatible but that doesn’t mean it won’t work it just means that it hasn’t been tested by our team. You can try going to your phone's bluetooth settings and remove all devices listed there. Restart your phone and restart your device. After this try syncing them. Also, if you are using an Android device, check that your app has the necessary permissions (settings > apps > Fitbit > permissions) and make sure bluetooth and location services (GPS) are on.

Let me know how it goes!
