Android App fails when starting a walk with GPS

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Starting this week, probably after the last update I open my app > track exercise > opens map > connects to GPS > press red start arrow > map closes and app returns to main screen. If I try it a 2nd time it gives the Fitbit stopped working > Wait > app info > send feedback.

A post asking about fitbit app not working stated Android 10 is needed however the admin post announcing the latest version being available on 8/25 states Android 8 is needed?

On the advice of @gdio53
I cleared cache and restarted and it's working again, thx.

I am up-to-date on the app, however only running android 9. Would stopping auto updates to the app keep me going until I upgrade to a newer phone?

Not in a big hurry to do that as this phone is more than adequate.

Appreciate any advice.

I'm not positive, but I doubt your phone would update the app. The update process would look at the OS required by the app, and compare that to the OS on your phone, and if the requirements aren't met, the app won't update. Just do't delete the app for some reason thinking you can just re-install, later.
