Android Fitbit app 4.03 is syncing

My Charge4 and Pixel 4a phone running Android 13 has been working very well with Fitbit for years now until yesterday.  The new Fitbit update was making Fitbit useless.

It sat there saying "Syncing your data" for about 5 minutes every time I tried to get an update.  There's was no sleep information or any Health metrics yesterday, it said "No data" on both and the Heart rate, and no Zone Minutes yesterday on the Android app.  Some data appeared on the Fitbit Dashboard site but didn't appear on the Android app at all.  Sleep information had to be manually added.  Everything had been working fine until I applied the Fitbit update which stopped so much working.

This morning I uninstalled the Fitbit app and then reinstalled it, it said "Bluetooth pairing is taking longer than usual.  Please be patient, We're on it!" ... so after 30 minutes I went to the Android settings and checked the Bluetooth connection which was done and said it was connected but the Fitbit was still not syncing.  After deleting the Fitbit app again, restarting the phone and my Fitbit device, deleting the device from the phone Bluetooth connection and then reinstalling the Fitbit app and reconnecting the device to Android it's now working but it has taken about 90 minutes and used 30% of the phone battery.

It's finally working again after two hours of work trying to get it help me monitor my activity and health details.

Same situation, getting to the point of looking at a Galaxy watch now!

I have never had any issues until today. I have a Charge 5 and my phone is Android. The app just keeps saying syncing, but it's not. I turned off my phone and my charge. Restarted both, nothing. Just keeps saying syncing.
