Android Fitbit app won't show heart rate data, but dashboard and watch do

Fitbit is synced to a Google Pixel Pro watch. I used to have no issues, one day the watch face froze up and I did a lot of unpairing and rebooting to bring it back to life. Ever since then, the app won't sync my heart rate data. The watch it taking my heart rate data, and shows it in real time. The dashboard online *also* seems to know about it, at least it shows me active time. But the app always shows me 0 zone minutes now, which is new since the reboot.

Hi, @Jibeaux welcome to the community, you can edit the focus tile at the top of the Fitbit app "Today" screen by clicking the pen icon in the top right corner or switch on/off the other tiles as desired. Fitbit new app how do I edit the Today screen

I hope this helps.

They are all set to show, including minutes in the zone. I just get 0.

Hi, @Jibeaux, have you tried restarting your watch & phone?

Before restarting your phone sync the Fitbit app if you can, go to the Fitbit app in your phone settings and clear the cache & storage then restart the phone.

Restart the watch go to settings>system>restart.

Have you edited the "Focus" screen to show HR?

I note your confirmation you have synced the watch to the app, you may find these articles of interest What are Active Zone Minutes or active minutes on my Fitbit device? & How do Fitbit devices sync their data? & Why won't my Fitbit device sync? They provide the opportunity for you to review your settings.

I hope this helps, let us know how you get on by posting here again.

I've tried several times. Once I coaxed one day's worth out of syncing from it, then it went right back. Reading some other forums, it seems to be a known issue/bug that just hasn't been addressed. I'm going to switch to Strava.

Hi, @Jibeaux , thanks for your update, I'm presently running a PW2 with a Pixel 8 Pro without any issues as you describe. Can you let us know the software versions you are running I have v 4.08 on my phone. On the Today screen touch your icon in the top right>Fitbit settings>Help & Support> it's on the top line.

On your watch go to "Settings">system>System updates>it should report Android 13 & security update 5th January. This update is rolled out in stages & you may not have received it yet. Also check your PW apps are up to date touch the side button (not the crown) Play Store>swipe up to the bottom Manage apps>update all if any are outstanding. You may need to put your PW on charge.

Let us know by posting here again.

Cheers

Thanks, those are good tips. It is running 4.08. it also shows Android 13
on the watch but says my system is up to date, last update December 5
rather than January 5. I also went and updated all my apps as you
suggested. I'll charge it overnight and see tomorrow if it starts tracking
my heart rate data again.

@Jibeaux  I noticed something on your screenshots.  Your impact screenshot says active minutes.  Your dashboard picture has active zone minutes.  What model Fitbit do you use?  I'm sorry, I can't help you with your heart rate issue.  I use an iPhone.
