Android app step count does not match device (Pixel watch 2) step count

This has been happening for several months now, but I'm seeing that the step count on my Fitbit app (pixel 7 phone) doesn't match the step count on my Pixel Watch 2. It used to match a long time ago, but I haven't been doing anything differently, and it's been 2 months+ of inaccuracy.

The fitbit app is always less than my pixel watch 2 step count!!! It's off by about 200 steps, and then when I walk more, 500+ steps! The difference increases the more steps I take. This is horrible since it's the app that keeps the long term data.

I've tried restarting the watch and resetting it as well. I've tried manually syncing from both the watch and the fitbit app.

Is there a fix for this? I've seen other users post with no updates or fixes, and also hearing nothing back from Fitbit or Google!

Hello @Skylarw

There is a known issue with step tracking on Pixel watches and syncing the data to the Fitbit app. The team is aware of the issue and has been working on fixing the problem.

There was some indication that the issue would be fixed in version 4.27. However, I've seen Pixel Watch users report that they still see the problem even after updating to version 4.27. I also still see this problem with my Pixel Watch 3 after updating to version 4.27.

At this point, there's no troubleshooting that we can do to fix the problem since the issue is on Fitbit/Google's side. We'll have to wait until they fix the bug.
