Android dashboard and ionic displaying miles incorrectly as kilometers

When I'm looking at my dashboard or at my ionic, it shows the miles I've walked and labels it as miles, but my progress circle is wrong, as if it has been set for kilometers. When I have made my goal of 6 mi, if I look at my charts it says that I made my goal, but if I look at my dashboard or my watch the circle is large as if the goal was 9.66, which happens to be the kilometers equivalent of 6 mi. It means I never see my goal completed or get the fireworks when I hit main goal. I took screenshots but I don't see a way to post them.

Addendum: as an additional bit of weirdness, if I look at my dashboard at fitbit.com, it also does the circle wrong, and also lists the goal as 9.66 mi. If I change that goal to 6 mi from fitbit.com, it changes my goal on the phone and ionic to 3.7. If I change the goal to 6 mi from my phone, it changes Fitbit.com to 9.66 mi. 9.66 km is equivalent to 6 mi, and 6 km is equivalent to 3.7 mi. So, it's clearly squirreling up these two units of measurement across the two dashboards. Thank you for any help!

Further addendum: changing unit type to metric and then back to standard does not help, whether I do it from the Fitbit.com dashboard or the Android app dashboard. Language is set to English. Force stopping the app and starting it up again did not help. Please help. Thank you.
