Android icon badge notifications not showing after connecting FitBit

I've just changed from an iPhone to Samsung S9, which receives number icons on the badges when notifications are received. However, once I connect my Blaze and set up notifications to be received, the badge icons on the android apps no longer appear? I've reset the phone to factory settings which seems to fix it, but then as soon as I link the Blaze and set it up these notifications stop appearing on the phone?

Hi. Did you ever solve this problem? I am having the same problem now that I switch from surge to Versa light. No numbers on the icons showing number of text or WhatsApp messages. Very annoying
