My status with the Ionic..
Android App V2.65.1 was finally updated yesterday and I had a perfect day using the Ionic. I don't use music.. All works. Syncing had been slow on V2.64
On top of that my 2016 Sony (not listed) was updated with Android 8.0.0 today.
Again, all working as configured included syncing to my multi Fitbit One and it's even syncing automatically because I have always connected settings on both Fitbits.
Fitbit Pay is working perfectly

One day in, and sleep recorded normally, synced immediately when I awoke when I turned the App on, even though I have All day sync off, but Always Connected on....
Not draining the battery of the phone, and the Ionic battery is averaging 0.46%/hr battery drain. Just charged that yesterday @13% and had 6 days between charges.. Charges at 1%/minute via the PC USB port.
All going well..

It's just over a month since I posted and I have just received V2.93. I was surprised there was no change in the interface.
I have had a month of trouble free use on 2.92 and recommenced my use of the Food logging. I have had no dramas there as reported by others elsewhere.
V2.93 is syncing on demand and syncing when I open the App, so no change there.. I had to set Location On.. That was turned off...
I have restarted using the 250 steps/hour feature on the Ionic and it doesn't remind me at the 10 minutes to the hour that I'm under my 250 steps. I receive the notification when I achieve the 250 steps.. All other notification types are working.
I will report back later after I go out in the day and check my progress.. So far a very clean update.

No issues so far.. Everything I do is working.
I have just been advised that the 10 minute notification on the Ionic, when you are short on steps for that hour is a known issue..but... at 5-40pm this evening it popped up and vibrated.. the only time today.

@GraceGFitbit I have tested the 10 minute notification and it works. But, on my 7" wrist the vibration is so low I don't detect it. If watching TV I pick it up but during activity I miss it. For me the 12 x 250 minimum is a guarantee of 3,000 steps for the day.
The swiping up periodically works perfectly and shows the remaining steps or where I'm at with the goal..
I have put in a feature request at this link..

A smooth update to V2.94.. Still the original Dashboard.
Synced smoothly and all my settings remained the same.

So far the App is very responsive to syncing and updating calculations for exercise, especially those that involve HR calculations.
For example I plot my sleeping HR, typically 8 hours duration, I create the record in the phone, then sync and the average HR data for the night is there.. All within the time frame of a swipe down sync on the App..
Much the same with food. I log on the PC and the Phone and they all merge without issues and responsive.
Another success for a Sony phone.

Day 2 of 2.95 and no issues.. Sleep is OK and all notifications are coming through.
Syncs on demand and when I open the App. Another positive upgrade for me.

App V3.00 just updated and everything syncing as normal.

Now a week later since App 3.00 update and no issues..
Still getting 6 days to recharge at 14% out of the Ionic. No GPS.
Sleep is tracking normally and Fitbit Pay always works..

Still working as expected.
Fitbit Pay..
I had to replace one of the cards on my Pay App because it was a card with a new expiry date. This was not my default card.
The default card refused to work in tap so I removed that and reloaded it and now functioning correctly.

24 hours on all working normally. Fitbit Pay is now functioning correctly.
Yesterday my App upgraded to the new v3.00.. I just have to unlearn the old App but everything is working.
