My status with the Ionic..
Android App V2.65.1 was finally updated yesterday and I had a perfect day using the Ionic. I don't use music.. All works. Syncing had been slow on V2.64
On top of that my 2016 Sony (not listed) was updated with Android 8.0.0 today.
Again, all working as configured included syncing to my multi Fitbit One and it's even syncing automatically because I have always connected settings on both Fitbits.
Fitbit Pay is working perfectly

Everything synced OK with my Multi use but.. This appeared after a message "The database needs updating...." or similar
@AlessFitbitI had to Force Stop the 2.71 App because I couldn't clear the screen even though it said "All Done". Can we get an explanation

Just updated to 27.32.10.15 with OS2.1 on my Ionic..
Most things are working but I'm trying to come to grips with the things not in the Ionic manual..
Multi is still working as expected...

Just update to Android App 2.72... Took my Dongle out and did an immediate sync to the phone..
From App 2.71 onwards and as posted in other posts, with the help of @jwebb72, I'm now syncing first thing in the morning with the phone switched off and just using the Dongle.. Immediate sync.
When I have the phone on and the PC dongle in... the syncing just wheelies.. Pull the Dongle out, switch the phone on, I get an immediate sync, as I did after this 2.72 update.
Well done Fitbit.

App 2.72.1 updated today, only 2 days after I received App 2.72..
I'm still syncing the same way and immediate sync via the dongle first thing in the morning with the phone off.
All seems ok again..

Updated with App 2.73 today, rebooted the phone, opened the App and it synced my Ionic immediately. Also correct sleep display. Just checked, and it has synced my Multimode Fitbit One with the same step count.

Also made the plunge and purchased the latest phone in the Sony range and had immediate success in using my Fitbits, especially the Ionic. These phones aren't on the Compatibility list.
For those interested, this link has my one hour of achievement.. New phone, App2.73 and Ionic Firmware upgrade..with Ionic Wi-Fi.. Normally I wouldn't do that, but space the events and measure success..

Another smooth update.... V2.74.
Doesn't fix the high mobile data use as reported in the Android forum.
My Ionic appears to sync quicker.

@Mark2018 Thanks, how remiss of me. I have edited the post and my Signature. V2.74
My phone is down to 17% battery @ 4 pm and the Fitbit mobile data is approaching 40% of my monthly Telco data usage. Top of the stack.. Phone battery was at 95% @ 7am today.

Just updated to App 2.74.1 and all of my functions are working. Syncing "seems" to be getting quicker.
Since I upgraded to V2.73 I have had no battery overheating or battery consumption.. See this link 2.74 go no issues, just data consumption..
Mobile data is still excess including App 2.74 so I will know in a couple of days if 2.74.1 has addressed the issue. It's currently at 43% of my usage, fortunately I have a shared pool of Mobile data with 2 others in my household who are low users of the mobile data and I will bet no excess charges from my Telco. Fitbit is currently using 1,18g, the next best is Firefox @ 4.77mb..

2.74.1: still no sleep stages!

07-09-2018 22:05
@Mark2018When you say no sleep stages I presume you are getting the original sleep bar ?.
I can't even put my finger on what would cause that..Once, I have an unexplained old style sleep graph, no stages in 8 months.. But that doesn't help your problem. And, I'm on a non listed phone and no issues except the excess data usage.
'm monitory for battery failure because I had a dramatic outage on the Ionic from about 60% to nothing in a few minutes.. While asleep. So far all OK but I have documented it with emails to Support who are keeping an eye on it..
It was totally out of the blue...... The HR recording stopped at 11-30pm... This is the first time with my Ionic and it was out of character.. Since the recharge it's back to averaging 0.43%./hour

App 2.72.2 upgraded seamlessly. No issues and I feel a distinct improvement in the Ionic syncing.
All battery use and Mobile data now become normal. Pre APP 2.73
All my functions on the Ionic are working except the last two battery drains have been sudden @ about 35% remaining to 0%. Support are monitoring that.

App 2.72.2 has fixed all of my issues. Battery on phone back to normal and mobile data is back to pre Fitbit issues.
No other ionic problems just keeping my fingers crossed on the three instances of sudden battery loss from 30% to dead flat..
I'm hoping this may have been background data movement from the Ionic to App to server because the timing seems to coincide with our sudden battery drain on the phones. I had been turning my phone off at night but two instances I left it on within metres of the phone.. So far after the last charge the Ionic has averaged 0.45%/hr drainage which gives me about 6.5 days before a typical charge from a bout 20% left.

With email communication with Support, so that I have the Ionic battery drain documented, I have just completed the factory reset and setup..
The setup was smooth, WiFi on the Ionic and 35 minutes like last time.
It probably took longer afterwards, checking all of my options, notifications and setting up Fitbit Pay.. This clean update fixed a problem I had with the Pay Wallet.. I can now see my transactions in that..... before.. it was wanting to install Fitbit Pay when I tried to open the wallet.. even though Fitbit Pay was working perfectly..
Battery drain in the Ionic for the 24 hours is 0.36%/hour.. But success will be measured in 3-4 days time when I was having 30-40% drain while watching TV.. That happened 3 times and Fitbit Supports first reaction you are getting your battery life. I was getting 6-7 days with my type of use... Workouts, Notifications (All types), Fitbit Pay, and no GPS and wearing 24/7..
The other is, that I also have smoother syncing since I installed V2.72.1 and 2...

Just upgraded to App V2.75 and no issues so far... Synced perfectly in multi mode, the Ionic and the One. All sleep data is there and Dashboards are normal.
I don't believe this has anything to to with the App versions..The accelerated battery loss at the 4th day from about 60% to 0% still happened and it seemed to start with App V2.74 so these were the steps taken and always charged via the PC USB port. I normally get 7.5 days out of the Ionic wearing it 24/7, some workouts, notifications set and no GPS.
The type of failure is, at about 60% you can see it fail.. An example watching TV from 60% to 0% in 2 hours
If it fails again Support want me to send the device to their Australia agent..

Just got 7.5 days out of the Ionic on that last charge after 3 x restarts..
Now recharged at 13% left.. So 1.5 days into that cycle and the battery is only reducing at 0.43%/hour
So all well..
App 2.75 seems to be syncing now more on auto than having to force a sync...
