My status with the Ionic..
Android App V2.65.1 was finally updated yesterday and I had a perfect day using the Ionic. I don't use music.. All works. Syncing had been slow on V2.64
On top of that my 2016 Sony (not listed) was updated with Android 8.0.0 today.
Again, all working as configured included syncing to my multi Fitbit One and it's even syncing automatically because I have always connected settings on both Fitbits.
Fitbit Pay is working perfectly

I have been getting 6.5 days average between charges on the Ionic..
Just upgraded the Android App to V2,76 and all seems to be working OK..
I have noticed when it syncs the App Dashboard is zeroed before it finally updates.. as reported elsewhere.

Just upgraded to App V2.76.1 and that seems to have fixed the Zero Steps and calories issue in the App. Syncing is smooth and responsive..
Working perfectly when I select each of my Fitbits in turn which are running concurrently..

Alas, App 2.76.1 still has the non-active HR and live data issue in this link
Otherwise syncing, sleep etc is working on the Ionic and quick sync on the Fitbit One..

App 2.77 updated today..
When I open the App the steps and sleep are correct so that issue has gone..
Also Live HR is now working..

Waiting for 2.78 to hit my Android Store.... Now upgraded and I haven't noticed anything untowards..
My non compliant Sony Xperia XP (2016) just went through a system upgrade and everything I use is still functioning on V2.78 of the Fitbit App.

I have just switched over to a replacement Ionic.. The other Ionic was having sudden spasmodic battery loss at around 4 days. I documented that via Support emails and my replacement arrived from Fedex late last week..
The cutover was smooth, about 45 minutes to upgrade the Ionic OS via Wi-Fi and every thing is working. The first week of battery use is down to 17% after 5.6 days.
Now awaiting App 2.79 to be available for me.

App 2.79 arrived yesterday and updated and no issues syncing the Ionic and One.
The replacement Ionic is consuming battery @ 0.52%/hour so I should get my typical 6.5 days. There is no music or GPS in that just 24/7, sleep and workouts.

A new feature.... !!!
I have noticed the App now randomly asks me to Link each of my Fitbits in the App Account.. Not at the same time, but randomly.
I would still like Fitbit to post the sequencing of syncing in the Android system.. ie, from Fitbit to server, then returns to the App, and then to the Fitbit.. That's my observation.

Just updated to the Ionic OS V2.20 and only took 25 minutes..
So in two days I have the App 2.80 and latest Firmware on the Ionic..
No hiccups so far.. Syncing in multi mode is working as expected..
@GraceGFitbitThanks for moving the post, I started it originally in the Ionic Forum because there were so many posts about issues there..
With what I do on the Ionic, I have no issues syncing and with my non tested Sony phones..

Notifications definitely working because my Ionic filled up with the Ionic OS 2.20 firmware posts this morning...

Just upgraded to 2.80.1 and syncing is still working.

10-07-2018 20:35
The successful sync was to my Fitbit One in multi mode...
Still trying to sync the Ionic.. All it's doing is making my phone hot.. V2.80 synced perfectly when I woke this morning..
I have never really complained about the Ionic syncing, mainly the slowness, but is obvious after this update.

Just did a successful Ionic sync via Fitbit Connect om my Windows 7 computer..
All that has happened on my phone is, to continual wheely and rapidly flatten the battery and the phone getting hot.. Not good..
The Phone App shows the correct stats from the PC Dashboard, therefore the server link is working.
Can't even get the Fitbit One to sync via the App or setup my Zip to test that part..
A wobbly release...

It's getting worse..... Now it wants to link my Ionic again and starting to restart Bluetooth..when it feels like it..
The Weather App hasn't synced for 8 hours....
These things never happened on V2.80 or earlier Versions.
10-08-2018 04:56
10-08-2018 04:56
Finally struggled through and got the Weather App to sync.
Also I was successful again using Fitbit Connect on both Fitbits..
Still hit and miss with the Sony phone..

Hi @Colinm39, thanks for making us aware of this situation and for sharing your experience with us.
If you still having trouble to sync with your phone I would like to ask you if you already check this:
If those requirements are in order, have you already try these steps?
I hope this can be helpful, keep me posted in case you need anything else.

@GraceGFitbit Thanks for the reply and steps...
I normally follow this step procedure.. and this is where we are at now.. Keeping in mind I have no issues for the last 2 years with this phone. Slow syncing with the Ionic and always immediate with the One.
I have my Fitbit App running concurrently with the Ionic and the One in multi mode.
I can sync the One manually from the phone..
Most times I try to sync the Ionic from the same phone it comes up with a message saying Restart Bluetooth. That has never happened before, only with App2.80.1
I can sync every time via Fitbit Connect and that detects both devices and the update works.
Because of the lack of syncing with the Ionic and I can get my One steps synced and always get my extra 1000+ steps that way every time. Then I Fitbit Connect to update the server, then the server pushes the correct data out to the Ionic.. I never lose data and Sleep stages and Weather are working perfectly. Sleep stages has never been an issue for me..
Finally, ALL of my Notifications have stopped working and I'm not going to chase that because I now have increased battery life. I will just wait for the next App upgrade.. Getting 7 days out of battery without GPS and no notifications.
For someone who is approaching 80, my Ave HR sleeping last night was 52 and my RHR 53 at the moment with a Cardio of 42-46..
