My status with the Ionic..
Android App V2.65.1 was finally updated yesterday and I had a perfect day using the Ionic. I don't use music.. All works. Syncing had been slow on V2.64
On top of that my 2016 Sony (not listed) was updated with Android 8.0.0 today.
Again, all working as configured included syncing to my multi Fitbit One and it's even syncing automatically because I have always connected settings on both Fitbits.
Fitbit Pay is working perfectly

Thanks a lot you for getting back to us with all those details including the screenshot @Colinm39.
You can try removing the tracker from your phone's Bluetooth settings with all devices listed there too. Restart your phone and your tracker. Now add the tracker to the Bluetooth list and reopen the app to start a sync.
Your comments are very important for us.
If you have any further questions, please let me know!

@GraceGFitbit Thanks, I have detached the Ionic Bluetooth on the phone and reassigned..... and that makes no difference with the message. Also notifications still don't work which have been working up until now on all Fitbit devices that I link the Bluetooth to.
This is what works and every morning I turn on the phone and then..
Nearly every time I open the Fitbit App 2.80.1 and attempt to sync the Ionic it wants to restart the Bluetooth which is working as posted in the text above.
So the Bluetooth link to the server works using Fitbit Connect.. There have been no software updates on the phone.
Also the Fitbit One has the correct steps count and that's 50' away in my bedroom..
again... My environment has no other Bluetooth devices on, even the Fitbit Connect dongle is out of the computer and my hearing aids are switched off.. Just before I removed the dongle the Fitbit One synced automatically.. and.... that now shows on the phone via the 4g Telco link..
The odd thing now is that the even though the Ionic shows 41% battery, Take it off the charge and still no sync..and the battery still shows flat. Then, Fitbit Connect again and immediate Ionic sync to server and then server to phone and battery is now orange on PC and phone..
I'm happy with the Ionic, I'm getting the stats but like others who have reported their non tested phone suddenly stops syncing..after this App update....

Hi @Colinm39, thanks for troubleshooting this trouble with us.
Maybe, as our Fitbit One and the Ionic have a different firmware, (much complex for the Ionic). The One still can sync with your non compatible device but the Ionic don't.
Thank you for your understanding and please rest assured, we will continue working to offer you the best experience with our products.
If you have any further questions, please let me know. Have a nice weekend!

@GraceGFitbitIn posting this there have been no Sony updates to my phones...
But success this morning, switched on the phone and the data synced from the watch within 2 minutes and Live heart was working. All of the sleep data and RHR had calculated.. My computer was switched off so there were no Fitbit Connect auto updates..
So I switched on the Sony XA2 which is the latest for me (not used for day to day use yet because I need to update all of my contacts etc).. It did an immediate sync and picked up all of the server data.
The only notifications I have on both phones is the Fitbit Pay.. All of my yesterdays Pay's came through on the XA2 this morning and only one on the XP phone yesterday. So that's a good sign because the Ionic still had those.. and NOW a couple of Fitbit Challenges came through on the Ionic.. from the XA2.....
Being a very retired IT specialist and I can appreciate the difficulty Fitbit have with the thousands of Android devices out there and accept they must test the market leaders.
So maybe the next App update will correct my Notifications issue.. as mentioned earlier, I'm not concerned.
This weekend Victoria's leading morning newspaper is advertising the Versa with a years subscription of the newspaper..with the Versa coming from one of Fitbit's retailers here.. Interesting move.. Here is the link

@GraceGFitbit I have just bitten the bullet and converted to my Sony XA2 phone..
Now painstakingly going through and re-setting up all of the Apps with logins and passwords
The Google App store App Xperia Transfer Mobile worked using the Wi-Fi as a conduit.
So... Where are we now..
In summary a smoother working version with the 2018 phone release.. The Sony XP was a 2016 release. So the effective things I need on the Ionic are working..

@GraceGFitbitI have a Support email I'm dialoging with Support because they said that I didn't have notifications setup. Maybe, but I checked everything..
Today I'm receiving Facebook notifications, Fitbit Notifications including a badge but no emails.
The Fitbit using the Sony XA2 is syncing when I open the App, so now I have to have the Fitbit One set as "Always Connected" to OFF so that I can ensure my daily steps are accurate.
In summary, the latest Sony phone has improved most of my communications...

@GraceGFitbitJust updated to App 2.81 and the Sony XA2 phone is working flawlessly with the Ionic and the One in multi mode concurrent.
I had to turn the Ionic "Always Connected OFF", because the syncing was so efficient I was losing my steps for the One..
My process there is to examine both with their step count and manually sync the Fitbit with the highest steps first... I noticed since I upgraded the phone the Ionic was talking control.
Upgrading the phone has made a significant improvement on the syncing.

Another update.
The combination of App 2.81 and the latest Sony phone in Australia the error message I was getting when I cleared messages/notifications has gone..... Solved.

Another oddity....
When I awake the first thing I do is check my emails on the phone, wake up the computer and then use Fitbit Connect to sync my Ionic..
My testing routine is to do this each morning because I have no success syncing first time.
I then restart the Ionic... and.... voila.... syncs immediately through Fitbit Connect..
I then open the App and everything is there.... including sleep and RHR..

App 2.82 updated and the Ionic synced immediately from the Sony XA2 phone.. 10 minutes on and I did another sync.. I received 2.82 in Australia on the day it was released...
All notifications are still working, ie phone, messenger, Fitbit, email etc.. and they still appear on the Ionic even when I'm 40' away from the mobile. Alarms and Workout OK with auto detect seeing my movement type and recording. Lawn mowing is always detected as Bike Riding
Sleep has always recorded as designed and in the months I have had the Ionic I have only had one night where it's only recorded the old style sleep pattern.
I fully tested GPS yet and Fitbit Pay is flawless.
My concurrent multi use with Ionic and Fitbit One syncs, and as posted earlier I don't have "Always Connected" set because I want to sync the Fitbit with the highest steps first.
So all is still OK with my "non tested" phone as per the compliant list of phones.

Another first..... When I tap Delete on some email notifications they finish up in trash on my phone's email.
I will have to keep an eye on that now...

Over the years I have had spasmodic issues trying to sync with Fitbit Connect or the Phone in the home environment. Tried everything, it works sometimes but not consistent. So I used to blame the home environment.
So simple now.. I make sure the the Bluetooth on the phone is switched off.
If I'm in the middle of a Fitbit Connect sync and it's just searching.... I switch the phone's Bluetooth off and an immediate sync..... The home environment hasn't changed.
This morning I was in the front bathroom about 13m (40') as the crow flies, the Ionic received notifications from the phone through 4 walls etc.
All going well, with average battery of 0.46 to 0.54% or 5 to 7.5 days depending when I charge and finish the charge...(No GPS or music)

App 2.83 installed and no issues with Ionic or the Fitbit One in my day to day activities.

App 2.83 is the smoothest, fastest syncing I have had since I started using Android phones..
There is definitely an improvement in this release.. The Sony XA2 phone is 4 months old, still Android 8 with Sony firmware updates.

@GraceGFitbitThanks for being here.....
Another plus when my Fitbit system is working well..
Today I'm painting our fences within 9-12m (30'-40') of our lounge room table where my Sony phone is.. I'm getting all of my notifications on the Ionic....., fortunately the phone hasn't rung, hence no phone notifications... Ionic battery @ 41%
Simple tap, scroll, view and I keep painting.... Great implementation when all systems are go....

Now waiting for OS 3.....
