App displays different distance on run than the final distance logged

This has happened a few times recently and is really frustrating!

I'll track my run in my Fitbit app. Check how far I've run. Get home and sync. The app then shows a different distance, sometimes two different distances depending on whether I look at the 'map' or 'splits' of my run.

Fitbit support got me to re-set my Fitbit last week and that sorted it. Today, it's happened again - phone app showed a 4.2 mile run, app has logged 3.6 miles!!!

I'm using the GPS on my phone, so not sure that it can be an issue with the watch!

Anyone else?

Exactly the same for me with my Versa 1. Using my phone for GPS (and it was confirmed as connected before I set off), I ran a 5k. When my watch buzzed to say I had done the 5k I immediately stopped the watch. Now in the app, the map displays 5km but above in the title it says only 4.9km. Which is it? It's only a small difference but I don't understand how it can have two different distances!? Furthermore it displays the time as 24.15, yet the average pace was 4.56p/km displayed next to the 24.15. This is clearly not possible! Furthermore, the splits suggest it was completed in 24.10! Aaaaarggh!

I can't wait to get rid of this piece of junk.
