My daughter and I both had fitbits a few years ago with fitbit accounts. I got a Samsung galaxy watch and stopped using mine, hers died from being used by a kid and was also replaced. I got her a Fitbit 4 Versa for her birthday. I'm trying to set it up and running into this issue.

1. Try to log into fitbit using her google account on her phone. It tells her she's already got a fitbit account using that email address that she'll have to use. Ok, use the fitbit account instead. It tells her she's got to upgrade to a google account, and that I'll have to do that for her.

2. Try to log into fitbit using the google account on my phone. It tells me that I've already got a fitbit account using that email address that I'll have to use. Try to log into fitbit using the fitbit account. It tells me that my account needs to be upgraded to a google account, but first I need to upgrade her account to a google account.

3. Try to upgrade her account to a google account. I put in her gmail address, the app tells me

"Sorry, it appears that the email address you're attempting to use was recently associated with a Fitbit account. For security reasons, you'll need to wait 72 hours before using this email address again. We apologize for any inconvenience."

And I'm stuck. Don't care about history or anything, can I just delete both accounts and start from scratch?
