App shows "Connected" but does not display current steps

When I go into the Fitibit app on my Galaxy S6, the app takes a few seconds to connect to my One, then shows "Connected" for its status, but does not immediately update the step count nor any other data (e.g., calories in from MyFitnessPal, calories burned from basic metobolic rate, etc.).

The data have in fact been synced, because I can view the everything on fitbit.com.  Eventually the app does update with the current data, including step count.  The time it takes to update after it shows "Connected" is anywhere from 30 seconds up to a couple of minutes, and it's impossible for me to tell if it's the current totals or the last reported total from the app being displayed.

I'm not worried about my data being lost, but it is confusing when the app shows as "Connected" but displays a step count from several hours prior.  It's also extremely frustrating to have to wait that long to get the step count from my phone, it'd be much quicker, though less convenient, to take the One out of my coin pocket and view it directly on the tracker.

I have All-Day Sync enabled, but not Always Connected.

My fitbit app is also not agreeing, my "dasboard" data is different to the Alta, but click on any section ie steps, and it shows correct number. Dashboard has yesterday's stats. There was an app update yesterday, I suspect that is why.
