Hi @Holmsc welcome to the Community!
let me suggest you something else, turn OFF the Bluetooth on your phone, then reboot your phone and then turn ON the Bluetooth again. The follow the instructions on @AlejandraFitbit post to sync by using an Android device.
Let me know if the missing steps were added.

Thanks for the reply. It started working again the next day. Not sure what the bug was, I tried everything from settings, rebooting, etc but it finally just kicked back on the next day.
