As title. Ever since I updated to 3.83 the app randomly logs me out at least once or twice daily. Using google pixel 7 pro on the latest OS with pixel watch.

Already tried the usual things, uninstalling the app, restarting my phone and watch. Any ideas?

Hi everyone! Thank you for your patience.

Our team informed me that this situation should be solved after you update to the Android Fitbit app v 3.84.1.
Please make sure to update the app and confirm here if you still need assistance with this or if it's solved for you

Since you've already tried the basic troubleshooting steps like uninstalling the app and restarting your devices, let's explore some other options.

One thing you can try is clearing the app's cache. This can sometimes resolve issues related to login/logout problems. Here's a helpful guide on how to clear app cache on Android.

Clearing cache didn't work. It's specific to this version of the app. I rolled back to 3.82 and that works fine. As soon as I update it starts happening again.

@steslatt this is happening with my Pixel Watch too. It is a known issue and it will be fixed. I don't know the time frame for that right now.

I tried the newer update 3.83.1 and it's still the same. Hopefully a fix comes soon but for now 3.82 seems to be working fine.

I have the same issue. I suspect it is related to them trying to encourage/force people to migrate to a Google account.

I've had the same problem since I updated. I've noticed some other things with the update as well:

1.) The app on the phone will now log steps and gets confused with the watch, causing steps to be if off.

2.) My water log and calorie intake grey out and show incorrect data. When I close and re-open the app it's fixed.

3.) The weight log has moved to amount lost/gained from previous log entry.

4.) Sleep data no longer syncs or logs from the watch to the app.

Yeah it could be but there's no option for me to migrate so I can't try that. The steps given by Fitbit for the android app don't even exist within the settings.

Uninstalling an Android app removes all data, including cache, so I'm not sure what clearing the cache again would do to change the situation.

Hello everyone! Thanks for reaching out about the Fitbit app. I can confirm, same thing happened to me every day or every couple of hours. I realized it is related to the migration to Google. However, after I updated my app to the latest version, it stopped happening. In order to be able to migrate to Google, you need to have the app updated. So if you are running an older version of the app, you will not be able to find it in the settings. Here is all you need to know about this: What should I know about moving Fitbit to my Google Account?. If you have any other inquiry about the app, I suggest you create another thread to keep the boards organized.

It says you'll be able to migrate once your account is eligible. No mention of app version. I've tested this out myself. On the latest app there's no option to migrate.

Hi everyone.  Thank you for your messages and your feedback.

Our team has been informed and are looking into this.
In the meantime, please try the following.

  • Please go to the switch apps menu on your phone . (depending on your phone, could be a double square button on the bottom of your screen, or by pressing and holding the home button).
  • Swipe the Fitbit app to close it.
  • Reopen the Fitbit app.
