App vs web and export

If you are looking for "export data"  through the gear icon, you won't find it in the app. Just found out there is a web dashboard (not even sure how I got there) and there (not in the app) you have to scroll all the way to the right to find the gear icon that will allow you to export data. 

Hope I've saved someone else the hours I've lost, and apparently many others have too. Poor usability and even worse documentation/support. 😢 

BTW, I can't add a label to this post any which way.

You get to the web based dashboard. By going to www.fitbit.com then tap the hamburger menu and sign in
